﹤﹤﹤﹤ positives ﹥﹥﹥﹥
Camilla is a very kind, compassionate person with a gentle and generous nature. She thrives around other people and tends to bond closely with others that show her the same kindness and courtesy. She is very intelligent and inquisitive by nature with a thirst for knowledge and learning that knows no bounds. Before being enslaved, she had already swore her life to the service of others as a medic and healer. That desire hasn't disappeared, despite her slow acclimation to her new lifestyle. As a slave, she is typically obedient and pleasant, given the hand guiding her is gentle and patient.
|
﹤﹤﹤﹤negatives ﹥﹥﹥﹥
Despite being quite intelligence, Camilla is also prone to a bit of naivety. She is also very prone to suggestion and manipulation, especially when she is already in a rather distressed or emotional state. Her newly found acceptance in the life of a slave is testament, borne of a case of Stockholme Syndrome, as her kind are instinctively resistant towards captivity otherwise. Being from a foreign land, Cami is rather ignorant of other cultures and the like. Finally, as an avian, Camilla is very much prone to being rather timid. She is easily started and even more easily intimidated into submission or other unfavorable situations. However, when pushed too far, she can and will often snap.

﹤﹤﹤﹤ skills ﹥﹥﹥﹥
expert physician and healer. knowledge of traditional medicine making and treatments is very high. self-regeneration is extremely high. can read, write, and speak common fluently, russian to a minor degree. skilled in the upkeep of a home, including chores, bookkeeping, etc.
|
﹤﹤﹤﹤ weaknesses ﹥﹥﹥﹥
hollow bone structure makes her very fragile. cannot heal preexisting conditions. dependent on receiving sunlight to fuel her regenerative capacity. extremely low physical strength, endurance, etc. highly uncomfortable around undead and death-related beings.
|
﹤﹤﹤﹤ religion ﹥﹥﹥﹥
while her homelands has a native religion with a small pantheon of gods, it was the sole province of the upper class and royalty and she came from humble origins. cami does believe in 'death' as a god-like entity as well as some sort of nameless god of life that bestowed her gifts upon her, however.

Camilla was born to a small family in the countryside of a small, highly isolated country of avian hybrids by the name of Avis. It was there that she and her two younger siblings were raised until Camilla reached the age of fifteen. Ever the kind-hearted and gentle child, Camilla had discovered early on what she wanted to do with her life. She begged and begged her parents, and was finally allowed to take an apprenticeship in the capital city under a well-known physician. Under his tutelage, Camilla learned a great deal about her knack for tending to the wounded and ailing. However, around this time, she also learned that she was something special -- a Caladrius bird, with supernatural healing and regenerative abilities. Upon discovering these abilities, Camilla decided to devote her life to the healing of others. However, her instructor knew that her kind were exceedingly rare and treasured, and that there were those who would use her trusting and helpful nature against her to have her talents for themselves. Reluctantly, the little bird decided to keep her talents a closely guarded secret and continued on with her studied of more traditional methods. Thus, she worked tirelessly and secretively for some years, until the king of their small country suddenly became very ill. No normal treatment would cure him. Torn by the decision, but ever the dedicated healer and loyal subject, Camilla finally stepped forward and used her gifts to pull the grave illness from the king. What was the use of having her talents if she couldn't use them in dire circumstances such as this? Hours later, she herself was debilitated by the illness as the king was recovering. Upon learning what his savior was, the king immediately wished to keep Camilla as his own. Not only was she obviously a gifted healer, but at the cusp of adulthood, she had grown into a beautiful young woman as well. When she recovered from her illness, the king asked her to remain within the castle and the service of the royal family. However, she politely refused. She knew that her place was out in the city, helping those in dire need, instead of looking pretty in the castle, being pampered and nigh useless. |
The king, however, would not take 'no' for an answer. He repaid her kindness with captivity, claiming her as his own and not allowing her to leave the castle grounds. While she was not quite enslaved in the traditional sense, Camilla was treated as a permanent cherished guest. She remained that way for a number of years, a caged little bird unhappily serving her king. No matter the how many lavish gifts the man gave her nor the amount of pampering she was subjected to, she would not be cheered. He even offered to arrange her marriage to one of his sons in an attempt to regain her favor, though she declined. There was only one thing that the little bird wanted of him: her freedom. When war broke out a few years later, Camilla accompanied the king and his army to the battlefield, tending to his soldiers and to the king's own whims and needs. It was brutal work that would continue to haunt her for years, the gruesome wounds she had to treat and the countless men that she was forced to watch perish. Yet during one decisive battle, their force was decimated and even the king himself was killed by a surprise attack. When Camilla heard the news, she thought that she was free and attempted to escape. Yet she was caught by the enemy force. She claimed that she was just a simple medic and a servant, hoping that they would release her. However, instead, they chose to profit off of her capture and sold her as well as the other captives into the slave trade. While others were off-loaded at lesser ports, one of the captive soldiers that Camilla had healed ratted out her abilities to their captors in hope of earning their favor. The little bird ended up being shipped away to Guildereim and sold to The Golden Tether for a good profit due to her exotic nature. The terrified little bird braved the cages for some time being plucked out of the pens by the leader of the Bratva. There, the healer witnessed and was subjected to horrible violence she had never before experienced and was broken completely of her desire to regain her freedom as a result. In time, she even started to become content in her new life. Yet after the organization seemed to fall apart and left Camilla feeling lonely and abandoned, she stole away her own slave papers from their unguarded files and deliver them into the hands of a certain charming, silver-tongued islander.. |
﹤﹤﹤﹤ caladrius ﹥﹥﹥﹥
I don't play caladrius birds as being some sort of big secret, nor as a household name. Therefore, it is up to you whether or not your character would feasibly recognize what she is. Characters that are scholars of healing arts, alchemists / potion makers, or have close ties with the concepts of life & death would have the highest chance of recognition.

﹤﹤﹤﹤ death ﹥﹥﹥﹥
Camilla is a being that is essentially the embodiment of 'life', and she is able to 'see' Death reflected in the eyes of others. This happens when someone's injury or ailment is too far for even her to treat and they will die of their wounds. Likewise, it can be seen in the eyes of undead creatures and those living, but tied closely with death (necromancers, certain types of demons, etc).

﹤﹤﹤﹤ layout ﹥﹥﹥﹥
If you're wondering where you've seen this particular kind of profile layout before, you've probably seen it on my character, Falconry. I formatted her RPR layout first and then decided later to adapt it for Camilla's RPR overhaul. I might make her a unique layout at some point, but it was just too much effort currently. So don't worry, I'm not ripping off anyone but myself!
